Fair-use Policy

Effective May 2026

Lessona is sold as "unlimited" because, for the vast majority of teachers, it genuinely is. You will never see a credit counter, a "you've hit your limit" wall, or a surprise charge.

This page exists so the small print is not actually small. If you ever fall outside normal use, we will talk to you first. We will never bill you more than your subscription says without your written agreement.

What 'normal teaching use' means

Normal use is one teacher, one classroom, one curriculum context. That usually looks like:

10 to 30 lesson plans a month
10 to 30 presentations a month
20 to 60 printable resources a month
Steady editing and refinement across the same plans

These ranges are wide on purpose. Term-start spikes, unit rebuilds, and relief-teacher weeks are all normal. You do not need to budget your generations. Use what you need.

What sits outside normal use

Lessona is priced per teacher. The pattern that breaks the model is when a single account is doing the planning for many teachers. For example:

A whole-school account run as one login by an admin team
Automated scripts hitting the generator on a schedule
Reselling Lessona output as a separate product
Building a competing tool on top of our API or scraped content

If your school wants every teacher covered, that is what our Schools plan is for, and it is genuinely cheaper per teacher than individual subscriptions. We invoice the school directly.

What happens if your usage crosses the line

We watch usage at the account level, not the keystroke level. If your monthly cost to us materially exceeds your subscription for two months running, you will get an email from Stephen or Emma. Not a bot, not a billing system. We will share what we are seeing, ask about your context, and figure out the right tier together.

You will never be billed extra without agreeing to it first. If we cannot agree, we will refund any unused portion of your subscription and close the account cleanly.
